Inspection Lead Technician

 The Role

Experienced team leader and skilled inspection technician working in Quality to enable the assembly of EAV cargo bikes.

  • Responsible for the Quality technicians in Goods-In & PDI as detailed below:
    • Part Inspection
      • Inspection of components received at Goods-In
      • Recording non-conformance of parts in inspection reports
      • Raising non-conformance reports against suppliers
      • Checking ISIR, PSW & CofC content against parts received
      • Inspection of non-conforming parts found during production and compilingreports
      • Organising outsourced 3rd party inspection
    • Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
      • Inspection of the finished vehicle at End of Line (EOL)
      • Vehicle defect checks recorded as a Defects Per Bike (DPB) KPI
      • Checking customer vehicle specification
      • Reviewing build log to ensure all Production processes are complete
      • Completing a test ride to check vehicle functionality
    • Must be trained in the use of inspection equipment such as:
      • Caliper & micrometer
      • Height gauge
      • Plug gauge
      • Thread gauge
      • Bore micrometer
      • Radius gauge
  • Must gain an intimate knowledge of all processes to act as absence cover for technicians
  • Assist with part quality root cause analysis
  • Raising Quality alerts in station
  • Training of staff on processes
  • Management of process adherence & improvement
  • Monitor Goods-In part volume throughput to ensure build volumes are achieved
  • Reporting on part shortages to Group Leader
  • Compiling end of shift production report for build area
  • Assist technicians with line stoppages
  • Responsible for technician Health, Safety & welfare
  • Drive department KPIs, monitoring performance
  • Collaborate with other production Lead Technicians on process improvement initiatives
  • Uphold 5S for the area
  • Responsible for maintaining team morale
  • Conducting inspection audits
  • Daily area preventative maintenance checks


The Person

  • Experienced team leader
  • Automotive experience is preferable
  • Trained inspector
  • Must be able to interpret a drawing
  • Mechanical experience is essential
  • Must have a Quality mindset
  • Reporting into the Group Leader
  • Ideally trained in the use of a CMM
