Job Description – R&D Fabricator/Machine Technician 

Key role functions: 

  • Mig, Tig, Spot welding – aluminium, steel, tube, sheet, 1-10mm 
  • Composite trimming, keying, bonding, adhesive knowledge 
  • Sheet Metal fabrication – folders, hydraulic press, fly press, guillotine, notcher 
  • Precision Machining – lathe and mill 


Key Personal Requirements
: 

  • Trained and extensive experience, grinders, pillar drill, abrasive machinery, power tools 
  • Extensive experience air tools, compressor knowledge 
  • Extensive hand tool experience 
  • Significant engineering drawings knowledge and understanding 
  • Significant knowledge of engineering principles, lubricants, torques, bearing fits, tolerances etc. 
  • Hands-on and positive problem solver 
  • Experience producing jigs and fixtures 
  • Diverse Materials experience, composite; metal; plastic 
  • Basic electrical experience, fault finding 
  • Basic 3D printing knowledge 
  • Workshop H&S, COSHH 
  • Workshop management – stores, material stock, supplies, maintenance, service schedules 
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

Salary: £ depending on experience

Permanent/full time position – 40 hours per week
